I Samuel 19
Walking towards your calling and in God’s anointing will undoubtedly gain you some enemies. For various reasons people will want you to fail, will turn their back on you, and even fight against you. They may be close friends or people in places of power that can cause you a lot of grief. The reasons that they work against you really don’t matter. Don’t spend too much energy and effort trying to figure out all the ‘whys’, it can drive you crazy and knock you off focus. While the enemies will come, there will also be many friends that will rise up. Saul’s very own son and daughter step up to assist David and literally save his life. He also knows he can run to Samuel who will stand with him. Look to associate yourself with good godly people and build those relationships. Then when the enemy attacks those will be the ones who will stand with you, support you, and save you. That’s one of the many reasons to be connected in a good church. If you’re not, find one. If you are, develop those relationships.
